ISSUE 55 | CONNECTING WITH YOUR INNER SELF
Each week The (Quantum) Leap summarises a key aspect of success into what you need to Think, Feel and Do to create a personal shift.
The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself, everything that you want you already are.
~ Rumi
THINK
Have you ever felt like there is more to you than the way you show up your in your life at the moment?
Imagine uncovering parts of yourself that have been waiting to be discovered and understood. Beginning this journey is about small, meaningful practices – quiet moments of introspection, mindful decisions, and the courage to face our inner challenges.
It is not about changing who you are, but uncovering the real you beneath your daily roles and routines.
Uncovering the real you requires a depth of growth and insight you may not have tapped into yet. It’s about peeling back the surface layers to discover your true desires, motivations and values.
This inner self is often seen as the unchanging part of us. It’s the part that remains constant among our shifting thoughts, feelings, and external circumstances. The inner self is linked with wisdom, intuition, and a deep well of peace and stability.
Set aside some time on your own this week for reflection, meditation or simply being in nature to go within. In this time ask your ‘inner self’:
- What is one belief I have that limits me?
- What is one strength I have not seen or do not appreciate in myself?
- What am I here to learn?
- What steps to I need to take to align with my purpose?
FEEL
Connection with your inner self can lead to improved emotional regulation and resilience, yet one of the biggest reasons we struggle to connect with our inner selves is that we’re carrying too much emotional baggage.
Explore this emotional baggage in your reflection time this week. Ask your inner self:
- What feelings or thoughts do I have right now?
- How can I practice letting go more?
If you find yourself reluctant to let go of something or are ruminating on the same thing over and over, ask yourself:
- What is the payoff?
- What is my ‘lower self’ feeding on?
- What is the lesson I need to learn from this experience?
Be honest with your emotions - recognising and accepting them as they are is a step towards understanding your true self. You need to be emotionally authentic.
Write your thoughts and feelings in your journal and look for the patterns and insights that emerge so you can experience the peace and contentment emotional stability brings.
DO
