ISSUE 10 | BUILDING CONFIDENCE
Welcome to our newest innovation!
Each week The (Quantum) Leap summarises a key aspect of success into what you need to Think, Feel and Do to create a personal shift.
Confidence is a feeling. An emotional state and a state of mind. It’s the perception that you lack nothing. That you are equipped with everything you need, both now and for the future.
~ Mark Manson
THINK
Making progress towards personally meaningful goals is the foundation on which healthy self-confidence is built.
This week, review the goals you’ve set for yourself, particularly your core values and larger/longer term goals. Ensure you’ve got great goal value alignment and crystal clear action steps for working towards the goals.
If you haven’t already got one, writing a mission statement can also give you a sense of direction.
FEEL
Confidence is a feeling.
It’s the product of decisions you have made about yourself and your results. With that in mind, consider this…
Confidence has nothing to do with being comfortable in what we achieve and everything to do with being comfortable in what we don’t achieve.
It’s about being at ease with being vulnerable, or getting it wrong, or coming in last.
What opportunities have you turned down because you didn’t feel confident enough?
Are there any activities you have avoided because you felt like you lacked something?
DO
Get out there and get your as* moving!!
Exercise has a very powerful effect on self-confidence.
Regular exercise releases endorphins, which interact with the opiate receptors in the brain, producing a pleasurable state of mind. As a result, you’ll feel good and view yourself positively for making the effort.
When you exercise regularly, you’ll gain not only the physical benefits but also feel more motivated to act in ways that build your self-confidence.
What are you going to do to get physical this week?
